Aristaeus - The Beginning
Aristaeus was born out of necessity. The necessity for luxury and consciousness.
Aristaeus was formed out of a love for luxury. Our founder started making candles as an affordable Christmas gift for many family members. Experimenting further, the question became ‘Why are we using waxes that aren’t eco-friendly or natural?’. Soy and coconut blends or pure soy…less we mention people still burning paraffin in their homes. Beeswax is made naturally and cleanses the air. It’s clean burning and has a natural aroma. It’s the excess beeswax that is taken from a hive, and we don’t use farmed beeswax. We use a co-operative with sustainable practices and we’re proudly not vegan.
Beeswax over Soy
In many tropical countries, extensive natural areas are destroyed to allow for the cultivation of soybeans. The majority of the increase in soy production in the last decade has been in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay, where production has contributed to deforestation in important biodiversity hotspots. Vulnerable species in these places—many of which are found nowhere else in the world—are at high risk of extinction. – WWF. September 2024.
Wax and Fragrance
Aristaeus uses the highest load of fragrance we can in our wax and uses pure beeswax only for the cleanest burn and the most amount of throw we can give you. Offered in a natural beeswax colour, we honour the life and importance of bees and their axiomatically beautiful product. We are always looking to make sure we are using the best suppliers we can and openly announce that we will only work with those that strive for perfection also.
