Why Beeswax?
Beeswax is a natural product. It doesn’t have any negative effects on the ecosystem (quite the opposite!). Beeswax burns cleaner, burns for longer and also has an amber glow vs. a white glow of soy/coconut blends etc. Soy production is a well known contributor to deforestation. Paraffin is extremely toxic. We choose to work with 100% beeswax for its high quality (albeit a very difficult wax to work with!).
Does my candle behave/look different because its beeswax?
Yes. Beeswax has its natural, warm yellow colour. We don’t bleach our beeswax, so you might see a difference in colour between a group of candles if you compared them, but nothing too drastic. It is a very hard wax in comparison to others, so burning it for a full 2 hours on its first burn is best to avoid tunneling.
How do I care for my candle correctly?
We include a little care card with each candle, but the following are best practices. Do not leave your candle unattended whilst burning. Trim the wick to a quarter of an inch before every burn. The first burn should be around 2 hours, and each burn should not be longer than 4 hours.
Does the unscented candle have a scent?
Well, it does. Beeswax has its own, natural and gentle scent. The benefit of this candle is for those with allergies or particularly sensitive in a sensory manner, the candle is of great appeal to them. Beeswax is known to clean the air as it burns, forcing dust and other particles to fall to surface level.
